We partner with A Lively Hope, a program that accepts donations for children of parents who are imprisoned and newly released community members. Children who have lost parents or loved ones to violent acts of crime, parents who have passed away while incarcerated, as well as parents who are in rehabilitation services.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The full-time position as a Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting our finance department, multi-state payroll management and processing, conducting bookkeeping, purchasing, accounting, financial monthly closing, creating high level reporting, and clerical/administrative functions. In this role, you will work independently, be directed by executive leadership, and follow company policy. What you are accountable for:

  • Manage full cycle accounts receivable process including client set up, invoicing and posting customer payments
  • Prepare and process full cycle, multi state payroll on a bi-weekly basis
  • Multi-State payroll tax registrations and compliance
  • Manage full cycle accounts payable process
  • Review and process expense reports
  • Company credit card management
  • Generate financial statements and reports, provide weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports as requested
  • Assist with budget preparations, and maintain ledgers
  • Oversee monthly closing to verify all information is recorded correctly
  • Conduct bookkeeping, purchasing, and accounting functions
  • Adhoc projects as needed

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or relevant progressive accounting experience
  • General knowledge of payroll compliance
  • 3 years experience in bookkeeping and accounting
  • Extensive experience working with QuickBooks
  • 3 years experience in multi-state payroll registration and payroll processing
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel
  • Experience with third-party payroll providers
  • Adaptability, resourcefulness, and the ability to apply knowledge to varying business situations
  • Possess a positive, adaptable, and solution-oriented attitude
  • Ability to work independently and with a team

Additional Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Concur

Where you will be located: 

  • This is a remote position open to candidates within the United States with occasional work travel for on-site collaborative meetings as needed.

What you will be paid: 

  • The compensation band for this role his role starts at $65k/year base salary. Salary commensurate with experience
